JOB DESCRIPTION
Planning
- Develops and implements approved plans and asset maintenance strategies, tactics and policies, and philosophies in accordance with Company objectives
- Formulates and recommends maintenance policies and procedures aligned with maintenance best practices
- Formulates predictive maintenance plan based on equipment data, including historical trend, failure-mode analysis, testing of equipment and vibration analysis.
- Reviews and improves maintenance practices and procedures and implements up to date maintenance management processes to deliver improvements in maintenance effectiveness
- Maintenance Management
- Prepares and recommends total maintenance program for generating units, equipment, support facilities, and utilities to achieve desired level of efficiency, availability, reliability, and safety of all the generating units. Implement approved programs.
- Identifies, schedules, plans and directs general and major repairs of mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation equipment of the facilities.
- Directs the implementation of planned and/or forced outages to conduct preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Monitors preventive and corrective maintenance programs and processes to ensure that machine malfunctions are reduced or avoided, cost of repairs are minimized, and facilities and equipment are restored to an acceptable operating condition after breakdown.
- Implements reliability-centered (condition-based) maintenance on applicable equipment to maximize utilization of resources.
- Ensures that all preventive maintenance work orders are all done and accomplished as scheduled.
- Oversee implementation of design revisions to the plant systems or other improvement projects in coordination with Operations and third-party contractors.
- Formulates and implements policies on energy conservation, cost control, material supplies and equipment utilization.
- Maintenance Coordination
- Organizes toolbox meetings of all teams regularly and during the implementation of plant unit outages.
- Coordinates with other teams for the evaluation of unit outages to prevent future occurrence of the same.
- Spare Parts Inventory
- Regularly reviews and updates usage rate of spare parts inventory and recommends minimum and maximum inventory level taking into consideration purchasing delivery lead-time to minimize ensure 100% availability of spare parts.
- Recommends procurement of spare parts, consumables, and job orders required for maintenance activities.
- Talent Development
- Implements the company’s performance evaluation system as well as its career development program for the Department’s members.
- Coordinates the development and implementation of Training Programs and other interventions to improve job skills and enhance performance.
- Administration
- Approves work/job orders and work schedules under the maintenance department.
- Prepares annual budget of maintenance department and monitors monthly expenditure.
- Safety, Health, and Environment
- Ensures operational safety of equipment and auxiliaries under the maintenance department.
- Implements and ensures strict compliance to safety, security, health and environmental policies
JOB QUALIFICATION
- Professional: With minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience is required
- At least five {5} years solid experience in industrial plant maintenance, designs and optimization, preferably in a coal-fired thermal power plant.
- Leadership: At least 5 years managerial role
- Project: At least 3 years in project management role, preferably in the lead position
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferably with post graduate degree in engineering or management
- Licenses / Certificate: Registered Engineer, preferably registered as Professional Engineer or have any related certifications
