Tax Accountant (Assistant Manager)

As a Tax Accountant (Assistant Manager), you will play a key role in managing client engagements, providing Australian tax and accounting solutions, and supporting the growth and development of team members. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients while taking ownership of engagements and contributing to the firm’s continued success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver Australian tax and accounting services for a diverse portfolio of clients
- Provide technical tax advice and compliance solutions to businesses, trusts, partnerships, and family-owned entities
- Lead multiple client engagements while ensuring high-quality service delivery and compliance standards
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and consultations
- Review work prepared by junior team members and provide coaching and technical guidance
- Support engagement planning, resource allocation, and project management activities
- Participate in client presentations, meetings, and strategic discussions with senior stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance client outcomes
- Contribute to revenue growth and engagement profitability through effective client management
- Stay up to date with Australian taxation and accounting legislation and industry developments
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 3 to 4 years of Public Practice experience
- Experience managing or working with clients with annual turnover exposure of at least AUD $5 million
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation and accounting regulations
- Experience working in a professional services or public practice environment
- CA or CPA qualified, or actively working toward completion
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build professional relationships
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and team collaboration skills

Senior Tax Adviser
Help businesses navigate Australian tax and accounting requirements while delivering high-quality financial solutions and exceptional client service.
As a Senior Tax Adviser, you will play an important role in the successful delivery of client engagements, contributing to planning, execution, and project management activities. Working closely with Managers and senior team members, you will provide technical expertise across tax and accounting matters while supporting a diverse portfolio of clients. This role offers the opportunity to further build your technical knowledge, strengthen client relationships, and contribute to innovative solutions in a dynamic professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Australian financial statements for sole traders, companies, trusts, and partnerships
- Prepare Australian income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships
- Prepare Australian Business Activity Statements (BAS) and related compliance documentation
- Complete supporting workpapers and schedules to ensure accurate and timely engagement delivery
- Process accounting journals and financial transactions within client software systems
- Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) regarding client matters, including payment arrangements and compliance requirements
- Review, organize, and maintain client financial information and records
- Assist with technical research and the preparation of tax advice, reports, and file notes
- Support engagement planning, project timelines, and resource allocation activities
- Collaborate with managers and team members to deliver quality outcomes and outstanding client service
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of Public Practice experience
- Experience working with clients with annual turnover exposure of at least AUD $5 million
- Developing knowledge and exposure to Australian taxation and accounting legislation and associated requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- CA qualified, Part-CA qualified, or currently pursuing CA certification
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent interpersonal abilities
- Ability to confidently present information and communicate with clients and stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a professional services environment
