Container Operations Specialist Maritime

JOB DESCRIPTION.

  • Accountable for timely and accurate container operations performance and processing for the Maritime team for all vendor procurement purchasing done within the Maritime team on behalf of assets located in South America, Canada and Australia.
  • Understanding of the Maritime processes, specifically relating to inbound/outbound container management performance, with suggestions for improvement.
  • Liaising with Suppliers to confirm goods quantities packaging and requirements to Liners for bookings, and Agents for container inspections or packing surveys to meet freight cargo standards.
  • Liaising with freight forwarders and custom agents for clearance of cargo at destinations. Container booking, tracking, invoicing and documentation management with carriers and liners.
  • Support all scheduling planning processes and provide booking schedules to liners and suppliers.
  • Financial reconciliation of freight activities and dispute resolution management, tracking and escalation including after sales service support for ocean freight related enquiries by liners.

JOB QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor degree in supply chain, shipping and or commodity trading or maritime economics.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in container operations execution and managing end to end logistics operation.
  • Experience working with a shipping liner managing a global client account.
  • Preferably with experience in handling outbound container commodities.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
