Internal Control Manager

Our client is a leading global pharmaceutical company.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Conduct financial and compliance monitoring, both on live and desk monitoring, to assess the strength of mitigating controls. Conduct sample checks as part of the compliance review program to provide assurance over controls and risk mitigation measures. Assist and monitor closure of gaps and/or issues, including but not limited to:
    • Monitoring of HCP Activities such as events, coverage, detailing, etc.
    • Monitoring of HCO Activities
    • Monitoring / Audit of Sales Force expenses / reimbursements
    • Monitoring of Gifts and Hospitality and Conflict of Interest
    • Monitoring of Samples distribution
    • Monitoring of vendor selection process
  • Perform audit tests and propose value-added recommendations to address control weakness and/or process inefficiencies identified.
  • Support in carrying out specific projects or investigations, as necessary. 
  • Develop a thorough understanding of business processes 
    • Identify, review and document inherent risks and controls within the business processes 
    • Identify risk, control and process weaknesses, document main control points and provide evidential support for report recommendation. 
  • Propose value-added and practical recommendations to address risk, control weakness and/or process inefficiencies.
  • Conduct regular risk assessment to ensure risk exposures are closely monitored and addressed as needed. This includes but not limited to the following:
  • Conduct gap analysis on the regulations and local policies
  • Localized and tailor fit Regional Policies or Industry Standards and embedded in operational process
  • Coordinate and partner with other Business Units to ensure that compliance policies are developed and implemented across the organization
  • Monitor implementation of mitigation/action plans and ensure that implementation is within the agreed time frame.
  • Oversee and/or conduct the process of test or review of identified regulation and/or standards, to ensure that processes are updated and compliant to both the regulation or standards set by the company.
  • Escalate key risks and actual/potential non-compliance incidents to the Finance Director, Regional Compliance Lead and Compliance Director and ensure incidents are managed effectively. Monitor implementation of corrective actions to remediate any identified deficiencies.
  • Ensure timely and quality reporting to Finance Director and Regional Compliance Lead on regular basis.
  • Report significant trends that may lead to weakness in control and process including issues that may lead risk exposure such as but not limited to fraud, bribery, and other matters needed.

JOB QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or Communication 
  • 3-5 years of solid work experience in the Pharmaceutical/Healthcare industry handling communication, reports and/or analytics, medical and/or audit, internal control, compliance controls, knowledge and exposed to marketing and/or sales operations, preferably in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry 
  • 3-5 years work experience in performing audit and/or control including effective root-cause analysis. 
  • Experience in risk assessment management field.
