KSearch is an organization that encourages everyone’s personal and professional development. The management is very supportive of any seminar or training that they feel a Consultant or anyone in the company needs. Anything that will help an employee to grow.
I had the privilege to attend a two-day workshop seminar on Leadership Development at the University of Asia and the Pacific last January 28 and 30, 2015. The title of the workshop is Leadership for New Managers. Before the seminar, we were given the case studies that we need to digest so we could participate in the group discussion. There were situations that tackled motivation in the work place, trust in the organization, promoting teamwork, managing teams and resilient leadership.
The two-day seminar was a good experience for me because I got to listen and learn from the other managers and from our speaker on how they will attack a situation in their organization based on the case studies. I also learned from the other participants because there were some of them who were already managers for quite some time already. The group discussions were healthy because we got to share our own inputs. There were group activities as well that helped each one of us to probe on the decision-making skill of a leader.
The seminar was facilitated by Dr. Winston Conrad Padojinog who is currently the Dean of the School of Management of UA&P.
After the workshop, I became more confident about handling issues in my team. Also, I became more aware of the different leadership styles that should apply depending on the situation. This newly gained learning has helped me assess the leadership elements of senior-level candidates whom I get to interview and assess.
