JOB DESCRIPTION
A BigCommerce engineer is a highly-trained, specialized web expert tasked with designing, building, testing,
and maintaining next-generation frontend web applications in support of pixel-perfect design coverage and
blazing fast speed.
BigCommerce Engineer Responsibilities:
● Build and maintain frontend web applications using modern web technologies
● Implement and evolve design systems to produce reusable web components
● Incorporate third-party tools for tracking, functional testing, and UI testing
● Optimize frontend code for maximum speed and scalability
●Write clean, modular, robust code to meet project requirements
● Develop headless architectures to connect with third-party and backend platforms asynchronously
using web services (REST, GraphQL)
● Perform 3rd line support as required
JOB QUALIFICATION
● 3 to 5 years of experience with frontend development
● Modern JS & CSS tooling/libraries
● 1 to 3 years of experience with headless frontend development
● 1 to 3 years of experience implementing design systems
● Experience working with Sketch, Figma and Invision as part of design handoff
