JOB DESCRIPTION
• Coordinate, review and drive the financial performance and results of the operation, including commercial insight and analysis.
• Lead and advise on financial and commercial decisions and consult with the Country Manager. Candidate must also work in close partnership with the Finance Controller who is based in Amsterdam.
• Develop a consistent and comprehensive set of standards and reports for the operation within the broader umbrella of improving financial and commercial support services to the business.
• Liaise with the other subsidiary companies of molasses and liquid products and the Head Office Finance Department (Amsterdam).
• Budgeting and medium-term planning skills are essential.
• Prepare for and manage internal and external annual audits – maintain a strong internal control environment.
• Prepare for and manage contact with local Tax Authorities.
• Candidate will become the local legal entity Finance Manager. This means the candidate would be responsible for completing and signing local statutory accounts and tax returns, plus guardian of local legal compliance.
• Maximize the benefits of systems, including ITAS (in-house developed Integrated Trading Accounting System), Hyperion and Masterisk (in-house developed risk management tool).
• Understand the operation’s trade flows, their impact on cash management, resource usage, statutory reporting and tax planning/optimization.
• Be able to answer and provide creative solutions to any business challenge that may be encountered.
• Proactively gain an understanding of new accounting standards and their potential impact on the business unit’s results.
• Respond to ad-hoc reporting requests from the Country Manager, Finance Controller and Head Office Finance Department employees.
• Capital investment preparation and monitoring, project management and treasury management.
• Understand the operations in the Korea office as well as support its Finance Manager
• HR development, including mentoring, performance management and oversight of all in-country local finance employees in close cooperation with the Regional Human Resource Asia.
JOB QUALIFICATION
• Professional accounting qualification and accreditation, and/or MBA.
• Working experience of 8 – 10 years of in an international controlling, finance and/or accounting environment (of which 3+ on operational level).
• Commodity knowledge is important to the role, while leadership potential is essential.
• Able to apply knowledge and experience to provide robust commercial solutions.
• Candidate must possess strong communication and negotiation skills, with a ‘hands on’ highly visible management style and be able to motivate change.
• Self-confident and self-motivated person able to prioritize and focus on the completion of key targets.
• Must be very organised and able to work within tight deadlines with minimum supervision.
• A strong focus on performance; sets high standards, goal orientated, ambitious and able to maintain performance under pressure. • Excellent communication skills in Tagalog and English (in word and writing); other languages are advantageous
• Proficient in MS-Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
