JOB DESCRIPTION
In this role, you will play a critical role in overseeing the bank’s financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and records in compliance with accounting standards.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, and provide insights to senior management.
Manage and streamline accounting processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. - Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data and records.
- Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard the bank’s assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Work closely with compliance and audit teams to ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with other departments to develop accurate financial plans.
- Monitor and analyze budget variances and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Oversee tax compliance, planning, and filing, ensuring adherence to local, regional, and national tax regulations.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
- Collaborate with senior management on financial planning and strategy development.
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to help them meet their goals and objectives.
JOB QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a controller or in a similar finance leadership role, preferably within the banking or fintech industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong leadership and management skills with experience leading and mentoring teams.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present to senior management.
