KSearch Asia Consulting, Inc. added recently three experienced employees to its roster, a point of departure from its usual practice of hiring fresh university graduates. This is KSearch management’s timely response to provide its expanding client base with ample, focused and seamless service.
Ms. Jennifer P. Alba, Consulting Manager – Information Technology
Jen has more than seven years of professional experience in executive search and recruitment, five years of which focused on IT positions. Specializing in IT searches, she has managed end-to-end search solutions for various multinational and global companies. Jen will provide the strategic and operational leadership for KSearch’s IT search practice within the group headed by Ms. Rubi-Ann Barcelona, Consulting Director.
Jen is married and has a 3-year old son. Blessed with a doting husband, she and her family usually spend their weekend going to the malls or visiting friends and relatives for a quick vacation get-away, while Sunday is devoted to a church visit.
Jen studied Psychology in college. Her earlier goal was to become a social worker but she found her calling in the corporate world, providing technical recruitment support — a specialization she truly loves. Having been a working student since high school, she appreciates the value of working hard and achieving set goals.
Ms. Verna P. Austria, Communications Consultant
Verna has a solid advertising and online marketing background bolstered by several years of on- the-job applications. Multi-talented and with an MBA to her credit, she dabbles as content writer and, at some point, was a college instructor.
Verna will initially have a mix of responsibilities in KSearch, including the supervision of the KSearch Website and the KSearch Data Base Management System. Overall, it is her mandate to strengthen and integrate the company’s corporate communications effort, working directly with Mr. Manuel Guillermo, CEO and Managing Director. She will also soon be responsible for search mandates for advertising and corporate communications functions.
Verna can get consumed into continuous reading spells, time permitting. An avowed “Harry Potter-olic”, she admits to preferring to listen – as opposed to talking. For her, listening is the best way to learn about people and about life. Being an only child, she values real friendship so deeply and thus tends to treat her friends more like siblings. She is married and mother to a toddler-boy.
Ms. Sharwina W. Gonzales, Research Associate
Shar has had a dynamic work experience in the fields of office administration and human resources in her previous stint. She is ideally poised to expand her knowledge base in these areas now that she is with the HR Practice area of KSearch. Determined to pursue her professional growth, she has added the challenge of pursuing, after office hours, a Law degree at the Centro Escolar University. She graduated in 2008 with a Cum Laude from the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy.
Shar believes that life is about balance — i.e., having just the right amount of simple joys to lighten all the burdens of having to discover the meaning of life and having just the right amount of time to be alone in order to assess whether or not the person is still himself or herself or already succumbing to societal dictates or peer pressure. If she were any fictional character, she would be the girl version of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's “The Little Prince”. It is a children’s book but for her, it is the greatest philosophical books of all time.
Shar listens to classical music and appreciates the arts. She believes in the power of love and maintains her idealism. She can talk of just about anything — philosophy, existentialism, ethics, logic, showbiz gossips and “teleserye” episodes in quite a good detail!
