Chicken Feed in KSearch

Angelique Pepito

“One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating,” a line taken from My Own Story by Luciano Pavarotti and William Wright.

Last week, on 20th December, that’s what we did. We paused and ate to our hearts’ delight. The main ingredient – Chicken! -- individually prepared by a KSearch person in their own kitchen from a family recipe, a product of one’s original creation, a traditional favorite or an attempt at a celebrity chef’s specialty.

Who said that only Colonel Harland Sanders, the goateed KFC old guy, is the only one to be hailed for a famous chicken recipe with all the secret spices mystifying the brand? K Search’s very own concoctions that day were a sure hit. With ample choices that emit both fragrance and flavors, who cares about going to the nearest fast food chain? The irresistible menu ranges from favorite traditional Filipino , American, Asian to Italian dishes. It includes Chicken Pineapple, Chicken Caldereta, Asian Spicy Chicken, Tomato Chicken, Spicy Chicken, Chicken Ala King, Chicken Lollipop, Kofta Curry, Teresa’s Croquettes and Tonokie’s Chicken Inasal.

By popularity vote, some were hailed winners for their originality, taste and enticing presentation. First prize went for the Fried Chicken Szechuan with Sweet & Spicy Sauce, an exquisite creation of Miss Tess Ramos; second prize was given to Miss Connie Ross Suarez for her very own Teresa’s Croquettes; and third prize was Miss Karmeli Kintanar’s Kofta Curry. Not to be overlooked was Mr. Manny Guillermo’s non-competing Triple-Boiled Chicken with dried Shitake mushroom, a dish which he said took six hours to cook on very low fire. Wow, what a treat for us all on that day!

Here in K Search, we incorporate creativity in our work, as well as in the great variety of non-work activities that we do together. Only last month, our corporate social responsibility program saw us participating in a teach-in activity for the underprivileged children of Payatas. All of which make for continually and thoroughly vibrant work environment. Who knows what new provocation will MRG come out with, next again, soon? My, what a thrill…what a journey!
