What The KS Newbies Had To Say Post-Orientation

Jeric S. Sagala(Joined Jan. 10, 2011)

Today is different which I welcome!  In the past few days, I felt stressed, tired, because of the demanding nature of this profession.  I even thought of quitting.  Yet there is a strong thread of hope that I hang on to.  I have challenged myself that I will overcome any sense of defeat.  I said to myself, I will succeed.  Thus, having a program of orientation such as this only emboldened my spirit anew, inspiring me to do more and make it as a KSearch Consultant.

With all the things that MRG shared with us this afternoon, I can say that I am on the right track.  Often frustrating, yes, but there is always light at the end of the tunnel, provided we do the “right” work “right”.   MRG explained: being effective is doing the right work and being efficient is doing the work right.  This will probably take time to get this mantra into my system, but how can we go wrong with that kind of approach – or strategy, as MRG would fondly put it.

We learned that our Mission defines our corporate character, what we are, what we stand for; while our Vision is what we want to become in the foreseeable future.  MRG is proud to say that we are well on our way to achieving our updated Vision, part of which is the fact that we are already globally-affiliated – referring to our being a partner firm of the Horton International Group.  I especially liked it when he emphasized how passionate we are with our commitment to succeed, our management consulting approach, how the company values the continued professional development of the KSearch people and how we adhere strictly to our code of ethical conduct – all these making one proud to be a “KSearcher”.

I have to admit that I may still find myself in a relative state of confusion as to what I am really doing in my role as a so-called Search Associate, but thanks to MRG, I could now relate my work to the bigger picture and that, indeed, what I am doing is the absolutely critical to the entire processes of KSearch’s methodology.

As long as I am here with KSearch, I am convinced that I will grow professionally and ethically.  I look forward to a challenging yet opportunity-filled future in KSearch.   The orientation today has helped crystallized that conviction.  Thanks.
