Our Madame – Ms. Ruby Barcelona-Benitez

Fondly referred to by many as “Madame” within the confines of our office, Ms. Ruby gained this moniker quite some time ago as a sign of deference towards her by the younger people whom she had supervised in the earlier years of KSearch.  Sure enough, the enigma about her took roots as she would be quickly perceived as either nurturing or imposing upon the people she leads.  But in reality, she is simply tough-minded – full of logic and pragmatism when faced with hard decisions, yet never without an endearing genuine compassion and support for the people she works around with.  Add to this pot of apparent contrasts of flavors in her demeanor, she can be incredibly humorous and witty behind what many people sense as probably being formal or guarded.  Graceful in every sense, she tends to infect that type of persona on us in her team: seemingly outwardly composed, controlled and cool but actually quite wrapped up in consuming urgency inside her – much like the serene swan in the lake who paddles with frenzy with her feet underneath the water.

Madame is an uncompromising health buff.  She certainly keeps in good shape and looks it. O, how she loves the music of the 80’s.  You name it, she knows it – the singer, the band, the surrounding stories. Life is a beach for her – literally, because she just loves basking in the sand under the sun.  But no beach or exercise or travel can replace her most precious time with her 3-year old, lovely Lucia, now her most compelling passion above all else.

Ms. Ruby is our Consulting Director who leads our Practice Group consisting of the HR, IT, and Sales & Marketing, among others.  I am so proud I am in her team, learning so much each passing day with no  dull moment – no small thanks to our very own mentor who gave a whole new adorable meaning to the word “Madame”.
